  1. Hands

From the recording Songs of Rabble and Roots

Working as a therapeutic musician, I see people using their hands to heal every day. But its not just doctors and nurses doing the healing. We all have the ability to heal, and it is right int he palm of our hands. Thanks to my old friend "Davey" who penned the intro so many years ago. ~ Carolyn

Lyrics

The man would curse the chisel that tried to sculpt her hands
And freeze the lines in silent stone
Hands that draw such sounds from wood and wire
To peel by layers the hearts of barren men
The painters brush be stilled by blood and bone
of fingers never stronger than when woven with his own

Hands that heal. Hands that save
Hands that carry you, from the cradle to the grave

The surgeon dons his mask, and bows his head to ask
“Who am I to heal this fragile soul?
Here I stand, guide my hands,
And together we will make this spirit whole”

Hands that heal. Hands that save
Hands that carry you, from the cradle to the grave

Hands that heal. Hands that save
Hands that carry you, from the cradle to the grave
Here I stand, guide my hands
And together we will make this spirit whole.

Hands that heal. Hands that save
Hands that carry you, from the cradle to the grave
Here I am, take my hands
And together we will make their spirits whole.
