When I woke up this morning there was trouble on my mind
Feeling bad about my life, disappointments of all kind
 Then I watched the news from Gaza, saw the pain and said a prayer
And wondered what life would be like, if I had been born there

With war and bombs and danger lurking out there in the sand

When I woke up this morning, my soul hurt through and through
My children they don't love me the way I would like them to

Then I thought of children lost, or sick just waiting for a cure I am certain that I wouldn't want their lives to be so poor.

 Your children could be fighting for their lives, oh but instead
They're healthy, and their happy with a safe place to lay their heads

When I woke up this morning, I was feelin' oh so bad About my situation, wan n' more than I could have
 Then I thought of those who struggle just to find a decent meal
And realized the life I have is one fantastic deal

 Is it fate or is it God who decides your destiny? Whatever you believe it doesn't mater much to me
